“My wife and I were immediately struck, I might even say mesmerized, by a video of Piers painting one of his monochromes. There was a Zen vibe to the action of his precision brushstrokes. But then the camera pulled back and I saw the finished work. Wow, It is minimalism of maximum interest. We couldn't stop thinking of it. Exploring Piers' website led to a pleasant problem: we liked so many of his works, which to choose? We assumed that the prices would be beyond us, but reached out anyway. Piers was kind, engaging, professional and it turned out that the prices were accessible to us. We wound up commissioning a work, which was always a fantasy of mine. As a professor of art history, supporting a great contemporary artist through commissioning a work has a particular resonance. When the work arrived, we were ecstatic.
