Commissions

Artwork Commission

Commissioning a work of art offers a highly personal and engaging experience, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects the shared creative journey between client and artist. Commissions are an important part of my studio practice, and I always look forward to the collaborative process involved. The studio is currently open for commissions, so please get in touch to start the discussion.

Commission PROCESS

Creating a commission is a collaborative process between artist and client, considering all elements of the artwork, from inspiration and key colours to overall composition. It begins with an initial consultation to establish the creative direction, after which I’ll develop a series of initial sketches and ideas. These will form the basis of a commission proposal document, which includes digital mock-ups, the inspiration behind each concept, and a detailed outline of the commission process as a whole.

INQUIRE

I’d love to hear about an idea you have in mind, and I’m always happy to discuss and talk through any questions you may have. If you would like to inquire about starting your own commission, please get in touch by either using the form opposite or emailing the studio piers@piersphillips.com.

ADDITIONAL Information

Commissions can be created at any size and are typically framed as part of the final process, unless otherwise requested. All commissions are created with oil paint on either canvas or wood panel unless stated. Lead times for commissions vary depending on the size and nature of the work. A typical lead time can be between 12 and 24 weeks from receipt of first payment.

Payments for commissions are split into two payment stages. The first is received towards the beginning of the process, and the second is due when the work is complete and ready for shipping. Each commission is priced individually, starting from £1,000 regardless of size.

To ensure each original artwork and commission from the studio is unique, artworks previously created cannot be replicated as a commission. All commissions are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and are dated and signed by the artist.
